Illusion of You

Falling apart.

You weep at your losses
Of buildings, of things
But what about your soul?

Clinging to things and structures
Ones that matter not
Beyond the confines of your flesh

So poetic of the mind
To put human suffering
In verses and songs

It is all that it can understand
For it does not want to believe
It does not want to wake up

The dream, the illusion
Ever so strong, but still…
Unable to hold its grasp over you

Yet then comes the crisis of the vision
When the illusion crumbles
Your whole world crashes and burns

What’s left when there’s nothing left?
You’re always there, here, now
Oh, but you chose this challenge

You’re a limitless soul
Who decided to explore the limits
Of a world blue and green

Forgotten you have
Only to remember
For the pain to be released

A mission, a journey, an adventure
A hard lesson of the dark and light
Regardless, you’re going to be okay

Allow yourself the grace
Give yourself the love
Walk the path of light
